Enys Gardens near Penryn wasn’t known to myself or the couple either. It was May and I knew the bluebells were in bloom so I thought I’d see if anywhere would be suitable and in the area for a romantic bluebell shoot. I stumbled across Enys Gardens by chance and to my surprise, it was less than a mile from the ceremony at St. Gulvias Church in Penryn. The gardens looked perfect and It didn’t take much selling to Chantelle. We were lucky It happened to be open on their wedding day, It only opens a few days a week.
I checked that it would be OK to shoot there and they were delighted we would be coming. We hadn’t realized just how big the grounds were and how much of a walk it would be. I’ll just point out that it’s not the easiest to walk in a tight wedding dress let alone when you’re 6 months pregnant! We nearly gave up until a lovely volunteer at Enys spotted us and drove us right into the estate where we were able to get some lovely shots around the main house without much walking. The main bluebell field was too far to get to in the time we had, especially with a very grumpy chauffer clock watching. We then went on to Maenporth Beach for some shots on the sand and the reception at The Cove.
