Wedding Photography in Cornwall
Trenaunce Garden Cottages, Newquay
We started the day with an early morning shoot on Little Fistral beach with their adorable dog, Bentley & Freya. The weather was wet and windy but we soldiered on and it was certainly worth it. The official ceremony had been done a few weeks prior up North in Rachel’s home town so this was the second time around for them both. So as not to be an anti climax, Rachel put a lot of effort into making it as special as the first and combined it with a naming ceremony for their daughter Freya. She had organised some cool surprises for Sam in the form of an original 1960’s Mustang to pick him up in and a visit from three owls from Screech Owl Sanctury.
I went to capture the look on Sam’s face as the Mustang turned up at his hotel, he was waiting for a taxi. We went for a few photos before it went to pick Rachel up for the service. The blessing and reception where held in the beautiful Trenaunce Garden Cottages in Newquay. The guests gathered in the small intimate white washed room there for the readings. One of the owls brought the rings in to Sam’s amazement. They both exchanged rings before everyone headed outside for Ice cream and to admire the owls.
We squeezed in to the Mustang for a short drive down to Pentire for a few windswept shots before the rain settled in. We spent the rest of the afternoon huddled in to the tea room taking advantage of brief breaks in the rain for a walk through the gardens. Group photos had to wait until early evening when it began to brighten up then we managed a very lively bouquet toss resulting in one false throw, a hit in the head then finally success, with the crowd favourite catching it.
The speeches were combined with Freya’s naming ceremony which lead into the cake cut and first dance. The evening then came to life as a circle formed and a dance off started from nowhere.
